Texas Health Resources seeks to hire a Director of Patient Access who will oversee and guide this strategic function at two of our hospitals, Texas Health Allen and Texas Health Plano. These facilities together total approximately 450 beds. This leader will be responsible for liaising with leadership at both hospitals as well as the system to ensure that all strategic goals, KPI’s, and service expectations are met and exceeded.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required
• A college degree is HEAVILY preferred
• At least 3 years of experience in a business office management position in the healthcare field or a related organization is required.
• At least 5 years of experience at the Director level in a large hospital or multi-hospital facility is strongly preferred
• Admitting Manager Accreditation is preferred (CHAM or CHAA)
This individual will be responsible for this area at both the Texas Health Allen and Texas Health Plano campuses. Both locations are located in the north zone of Texas Health Resources.
*Position has primary responsibility for Patient Access Services, including patient registration, preadmission, precertification and verification of accounts, patient financial counseling, emergency service registration, scheduling and other related patient access services.
*Responsible for the design and implementation of system and entity policies related to data collections, patient and family education, Corporate Compliance program, patients’ rights and responsibilities, legal consents, release of information, medical staff bylaws and JCAHO, state and federal regulations.
*Recruit, hire, dismiss, discipline and perform evaluations according to hospital policies/procedures. Conduct and/or participate in departmental or multidisciplinary meetings, may include recording meeting minutes. Assists in resolution of patient, employee and other customer concerns or occurrences, refer to higher authority if appropriate.
*Online patient access education completions rates and implement training needs as identified by the PAS Council. Implementation of policies and procedures and standardized processes to meet agreed upon performance standards set for Patient Access. Utilization of front end tools/processes KFA status and action plans address deficiencies Submission of monthly statistics/reporting by the 10th of each month. Resolution of specific issues as identified by Entity CFO or CFO/SVP THR Finance.
*Responsible for participating in facility task forces, committees and other meetings to establish goal and best practices for the facility. Responsible for providing feedback and direct participation.
