PRN - One weekend per month and occasional weekdays as needed.
High School Diploma/GED.
REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
No experience required.
Hospital experience preferred.
LICENSE / CERTIFICATION:
Nationally registered through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) as a Certified Pharmacy Technician.
Must be computer literate, proficient in typing, able to perform basic mathematic calculations, able to read, speak and communicate effectively in English, directly, or over the telephone, with all employees and customers.
-Pre-packing and labeling unit and multiple dose packages under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist.
-Bulk compounding or batch preparation provided a Pharmacist supervises and conducts in-process and final checks.
-Refill and deliver medications to automated medication supply systems or routine orders for stock supplies to patient care areas.
-Enters medication charging information into a data processing system.
-Compound sterile pharmaceuticals pursuant to medication orders providing a pharmacist supervises, conducts in-process and final checks the final preparation.
-Maintains proper records for drugs and devices. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs.
-Ensures that there are no out of date medications.
-Maintains the Pharmacy in a clean and orderly manner.
-Ensures the proper procurement and required delivery of medications. Maintains a system for the payment of invoices and purchase orders.
