Qualifications/Duties:
Texas Health Arlington Memorial Heart Hospital is seeking an RN II to join the CVICU department to work nights

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

RNs hired after January 2017 require completion of BSN within 2 years of start date. RNs hired between January 2014 and December 2016 require completion of BSN within 3 years of start date.

Current RN License to practice in the state of Texas
Current BCLS/CPR for Healthcare Providers
ACLS certified or successful completion within 30 days of hire.

1 year of current RN experience in the ICU setting
CV experience preferred

Patient’s assessment and time management skills
Must be a team player, have good communication skills and able to work in fast paced environment
Basic Computer skills

CVICU is a 20 bed unit located on the 5th floor of Texas Health Heart & Vascular Hospital. The primary population is cardiac: MI's, CHF, Post-Cath interventions and full-arrest.
Cardiovascular ICU also includes CABG, Valve replacements, Thoracotomies, IABP and CRRT patients.

Nurse/Patient Ratio is 1:2
Educational opportunities within the department as well as THR are available - CCRN is encouraged

Hours/Schedule: Full Time; 3 - 12 hour shifts; 7:00 pm - 7:00 am; weekends and holidays required

Practices within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act. Serves as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator and coordinator for quality patient care.

Duties:

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
• assesses the patient
• plans the care of the patient
• intervenes as appropriate
• evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers

Maintains professional accountability
Maintains and enhances nursing skills
Serves as patient advocate
Communicates per department expectations
Provides for patient privacy and dignity
Adapts to changes in workload assignment functioning as Resource/Charge Nurse as needed

Texas Health Heart & Vascular Hospital is a separately licensed hospital located on the campus of Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital.
We are a 48 bed facility including a 20 bed Cardiovascular ICU that has achieved the Beacon Award of Excellence through the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.
Texas Health Heart & Vascular Hospital is accredited for Chest Pain through The Joint Commission and is Heart Failure accredited and A-Fib certified by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care. We specialize in CABG and Valve surgeries, thorcotomies, general cardiac care including heart failure, cardiomyopathies, AMI, post heart catheterization including angioplasty, stenting and electrophysiology patients. We perform CRRT, IABP and hypothermia induction.
