Required Minimum Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Associates Degree in Criminal Justice preferred
Required Minimum Experience:
One (1) year of security/law enforcement
Prefer two years of security, military, or police experience.
Valid Texas Driver’s License upon hire.
Non-Commissioned Security Officer upon hire.
Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI) obtain within 30 days of hire.
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) obtain within 6 months of hire.
Ability to be licensed with the Texas Dept. of Public Safety Private Security Bureau as a Commissioned Security Officer.
Ability to make independent decisions with tact, and a mature/positive attitude. The incumbent must be cooperative, discreet and courteous in handling visitors and employees with the scope of assigned authority. Must be able to handle stressful and possibly crisis situations.
Job Duties: (including, but not limited to)
Performs general security work in the protection of persons, property and the enforcement of all applicable policies, rules and regulations of Texas Health Resources and applicable federal, state and local laws to prevent losses due to accidents and incidents.
Patrols buildings and grounds for unlocked secured areas for after hour entry. Lock and unlock doors according to schedules. Provide individual and group escorts to and from parking areas. Identify and remove unauthorized individuals from property. Enforce campus parking policies/cite violations. Maintain compliance with all Security Department policies. Pursue and detain persons involved in criminal activity. Fill out incident/offense report forms/compose narratives. Give directions to areas of facility, interact with police, fire personnel, patients, visitors, and staff members. Provide interior/perimeter of campus and parking locations driving the Security Department vehicles.
Maintain Master Key control log to ensure that a record is maintained of what keys have been signed out/in. Maintain the integrity of all Vendor/Contractor access badges by performing daily audit/inspections to ensure that all are accounted for. Maintain daily badge sign out logs to ensure that a record is maintained of what badges have been signed out/in.
