Our OccupationalTherapy Dallas location has initiated a search for a OT part-time weekend OT.

Work Hours/Schedule: 24 Hrs/Wk (work every Saturday and Sunday and 1 additional day per week, either 3 eight hour shifts or 10 hours Saturday and Sunday and 4 hours on a weekday). Additional hours may be available, but not required.

Minimum Education Requirements:
Completion of an Occupational Therapy program

Minimum Licensure Requirements:
OT - Occupational Therapist Texas Occupational Therapy License Upon Hire
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support 60 Days And
CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training 60 Days

Preferred Requirements:
Good verbal and written communication skills in English
Problem solving ability
Ability to teach others
Good time management
Good interpersonal and customer service skills
NICU / SCN experience preferred

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

•Obtain/verify physician order for therapy and validate for appropriateness.
•Review available medical records and obtain pertinent medical history from patient or family.
•Ensure that patient has given informed consent to treatment.
•Evaluate each patient using age and diagnosis appropriate assessment tests and measurements.
•Integrate assessment results to identify functional problems and prioritize care needs with patient and family.
•Sets appropriate measurable, functional goals with time frames to address the identified problems including patient/family goals and preferences.
•Determine plan for care, or appropriate therapeutic intervention to achieve stated goals. Initiate therapy discharge planning in collaboration with care team and patient based on prognosis and expected discharge disposition.
•Demonstrates competence in the performance of age appropriate patient assessment and individualizes care based on age specific needs
