Qualifications/Duties:
Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth is hiring for a full time Microbiology Supervisor.

The THFW Microbiology Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Microbiology Manager to facilitate and manage the daily operations. Responsible for using technical and professional knowledge and skills to assist in operations, continuous improvement, customer and employee satisfaction, human resources, financial management, strategic planning, projects, information management, safety and compliance for the Microbiology Team in the laboratory.

Essential Functions:

•Facilitate and manage the daily operations of microbiology and special procedures.                           
•Assist in the preparation of the annual budget, manages supply and equipment acquisition, monitors expenses and meets budgetary targets.
•HR duties including problem solving, communication, payroll, hiring, evaluation, counseling, and termination of employees.
•Maintains a working knowledge of continuous improvement and participates in the application of CI concepts.  
•Assure customer and employee satisfaction.
•Assists with maintaining accurate information in all of the diverse information systems utilized to produce and deliver lab services.
•Assures compliance for regulatory and accreditation requirements to include safety, infection control, privacy, ethical behavior guidelines, quality and billing.
•Participates in Strategic Planning and Projects.
•Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge Requirements:

•Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Applied Technology, Clinical Lab Science or Chemical, Physical or Biological Science• ASCP or equivalent certification (MT or MLS)
•4 years’ experience in a medical laboratory which includes a clinical internship. Preferred: 2 years supervisory experience.
•MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP) OR equivalent (AMT, AAB, HHS, NCA, HEW,  CLS- CA, FL, NY state license, Philippine Board of Technical Technology) OR ASCP specialty certification for specific discipline. Registry must be passed within 3 months of hire date. Preferred MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP).
•Track record of cultivating and maintaining strong working relationships.
•Exceptional communication and presentation skills
•Responds well to rejection/criticism while remaining optimistic and enthusiastic when faced with challenges.
