Graduate of accredited Medical School

Required minimum experience:
Minimum of 5 years experience in hospital medicine in acute care setting. Prior experience with third party payors preferred.

Required License / Certification:
Licensure to practice medicine in Texas. Board certification preferred.

Skills and Abilities:
The physician advisor is a physician serving the system through teaching, consulting and
advising both the care transition management department and the hospital on matters regarding physician practice patterns, over and under- utilization of resources, patient flow, medical necessity, compliance rules and regulations,
collaborative and relationships with payors and the community. The physician advisor is a key member of the organization’s leadership team charged with meeting goals of cost and quality. Demonstrated ability to establish positive, collaborative relationships with physicians, managers and hospital staff is essential. Well-developed ability to
prioritize and simultaneously manage multiple projects. Exceptional computer skills. Knowledge of Milliman or other commercial medical necessity products preferred.
