Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, a MAGNET and baby-friendly facility, is searching for an experienced full-time Special Care Nursery RN.
42-bed Level II Special Care Nursery
Work with transitioning babies from the Level III NICU to Level II NICU/Special Care Nursery to home - feeders and growers
Qualified candidates for the Special Care Nursery RN position will possess the following:
The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, customer service oriented and energetic individual.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
RNs hired after January 2017 require completion of BSN within 2 years of start date. RNs hired
between January 2014 and December 2016 require completion of BSN within 3 years of start date.
One (1) year experience as a clinical nurse (RN), or completion of an RN residency program.
Knowledge of disease process and care of critically ill infants
Two (2) years or more recent Special Care Nursery/level II or Neonatal ICU level 2 (NICU) experience (from within the last 2 years) as a RN preferred
Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing required upon hire
Current AHA BLS/CPR certification required upon hire
Current NRP certification required upon hire
A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility with schedule
Prefer more than 2 years Special Care Nursery/NICU level II or Level III RN experience.
Basic computer skills/knowledge - Microsoft Word and Outlook; computerized charting on EPIC/Care Connect
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Critical thinking skills
Full-time: 6:30PM-7:00AM, (3) 12-hour shifts per week; Weekend and holiday requirements.; self-scheduling
