Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford is seeking a Surgical Associate to work variable shifts in the Surgery department.

Mon-Fri variable shifts, primarily dayshift, with call required

Required Minimum Education:
High School Diploma/GED

Required Minimum Experience:
Previous patient care experience preferred.
***Housekeeping / Environmental Services experience highly preferred.

Required License/Certification:
BLS required

Required Skills:
-Prepares OR rooms with Stock and Supplies;
-Restocks warmer with blankets and saline
-Changes sharps containers
-Stocks linen and trash bags for trash and linen, as well as red bags
-Empties soiled linen carts
-Floor care of the OR Rooms on a daily basis
Assists in the preparation or the OR room for surgery
-Maintains patient dignity and confidentiality
-Assists in room turn over
-Demonstrates basic understanding of asepsis
-Answers calls fro the Surgery Desk/over head page without delay
-Acts as a team member
Assists in room cleanup
-Disposes of hazardous waste appropriately
-Uses personal protective gear as required
-Follows procedure for cleaning of operating rooms and equipment
-Completes floor care in the OR in a timely manner and in accordance with standards
Other duties as assigned
Follows direction of circulating nurse in the preparation of the OR room for surgery
