The Family Centered Care Unit in the Margot Perot women's center at Texas Health Dallas, a MAGNET and baby friendly facility, is in search of a Lactation Consultant (RN).
The ideal candidate will be a team player who is excellent at communicating with peers, physicians, patients and who cares about customer service.
Part-time, night Shift - 10:45PM-7:15AM, (3) 8-hour shifts/week with holiday & weekend requirements. Self scheduling. Very flexible on schedule

In order to qualify for this newly created position, the following criteria must be met:
RNs hired after January 2017 require completion of BSN within 2 years of start date. RNs hired
between January 2014 and December 2016 require completion of BSN within 3 years of start date.
Associates degree in Nursing is minimum.
*One (1) year experience as a clinical nurse (RN), or completion of an RN residency program, or a THR
(Prefer experience as a Lactation Consultant)
* Current RN licensure to practice in the state of Texas upon hire; and
* Current AHA BLS/CPR training certification upon hire
*IBCLC certification required within 12 months of hire, if not current.
In addition, you must hold a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills and the ability to function in a fast-paced environment and be proficient in Windows applications.
Functions as an expert resource on breastfeeding issues for patients, families, community, staff, and physicians.
Serves as a clinical expert for lactation issues based on evidence.
Assesses outpatients for breastfeeding problems.
Participates in breast pump rental and retail sales within the Breastfeeding Resource Center
* BSN strongly preferred.
* More than 2 years of recent Lactation Consulting/ Breastfeeding education and Maternal/Newborn RN experience
* will be the Lactation resource on nights
