Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford is seeking a Certified Group Exercise Instructor to work as a Fitness Specialist in the Cardiac Rehab Department.

Shift Hours/Schedule: PRN (as needed), 5:30 AM to 3:30 PM with varying days (Monday-Friday)

Qualifications are as follows:

***Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or related field is required

***BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support upon hire is required

***Six (6) months previous experience or completion of an Internship with a Texas Health Resources Fitness Center/ Cardiac Rehab is required

*EKG within 90 days
*Must be customer focused and abilitity to work with a wide array of special populations and medical conditions
*Must have schedule flexibility
*Computer Skills
*Interpersonal Skills

>Be attentive to patient's fitness/health needs (assistance in correct technique for yoga, fitness excessive, motivate and basic education on exercise, nutrition and health); be accessible, approachable and interactive during floor
time; educate and enforce policies and procedures; adjust schedule as needed to ensure floor supervision is always provided; be responsible for form and safety of all patients.
>Provide services to patient populations located at the facility and assigned satellites.
>Plan, develop, direct, implement, evaluate and participate/instruct designated program/classes; develop and implement special events, education for patients.
• Assumes leadership of assigned programs.
>Ensure equipment is operating at maximum capacity (inspect and clean as needed - make routine repairs - log and follow through with maintenance requests/work orders) maintain clean exercise floor.
• Minimize patient accidents or incidents.
>Provide safe, clean, sanitary environment. Supplies are available as needed. Equipment is maintained.
>Provide Service Excellence; addresses and resolves patient concerns/issues immediately and provide feedback to supervisor.
• Patient concerns addressed and followed-up.
>Attend and contribute to staff meetings; responsible for communication (email, etc.); submit work orders and RL reports as needed; submit payroll reports accurately and on time.
• Staff informed of department and entity happenings.

Cardiac Rehab Monitor: EKG monitoring noting, documenting and reporting any significant rhythm/rate changes; charts patient’s response and progress in exercise; all necessary data input for record keeping purposes; troubleshoot monitor problems; answer phone as needed and take in new patient information.

Cardiac Rehab Administrative Assistant: all clerical needs for CR department; CR charges daily input & Phase III & Phase IV billing; insurance verification/precertification; prepare patient chart, i.e., EKG/Hospital Medical Report; patient education materials and preparation; work orders; referrals; tracking monthly reports.

Function as a member of a multi-disciplinary team: follow all department, hospital and THR policies and procedures; demonstrates our Promise behaviors; practice ‘Pledge to My Peers’; contribute fully and understands how each person’s duties impact the patient experience; provide excellent customer service and responds to all patient needs.

General duties: maintain clean Cardiac Rehab area including desk, filing cabinet and boxes, storage areas, etc.; ensure adequate supply of towels and washcloths are available for each class; education classes – ensure equipment and supplies ready for class; process calls and walk ins as appropriate; admit new outpatients with admissions.
