Texas Health Dallas is seeking a Certified Heart and Vascular Surgical Tech in the Surgery Department.
The Surgery department is at the forefront of some incredible minimally invasive surgeries - procedures that allow physicians to operate with microscopic incisions.
Some of the minimally invasive procedures available are: Bariatric, Cardiovascular,
Gastrointestinal, General, Gynecological, Neuro/Spine, Oncology, and Orthopedics.
Full Time: 40 hours per week
Monday-Friday 6:45am- 3:15pm
Call Required - Must respond within 30 minutes
Minimum Education Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited surgery technology program, Vocational Nurse Program or graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology
Minimum Experience Requirements:
1 year hospital operating room or surgical center preferred.
***Highly Preferred - heavily skilled Heart and Vascular CST.
Minimum Licensure / Certification Requirements:
CST - Certified Surgical Technologist graduate of an accredited surgical tech program
CST - Certified Surgical Technologist graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology within 2 Years
LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse upon hire
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 Days
Minimum Skill Requirements:
A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, acceptable grooming practices and ability to function in a fast-paced, changing environment.
JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
-In collaboration with the RN, assists with the nursing process which includes assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of all patients, including:
-Provides care according to standards of care
-Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to improve care processes that promote continuity of care.
-Performs technical procedures safely, proficiently, and within scope of practice.
-Documents accurately, completely and legibly.
-Takes action to reduce/eliminate patient risks.
-Adapts care measures to reflect age specific and developmental considerations.
-Safely administers medications in accordance with medication administration guidelines.
-Serves as a patient advocate.
-Communicates per department expectations.
-Recognizes and communicates ethical and legal concerns through established channels of communication.
-Performs other duties as assigned.
