Basic Qualifications / Requirements:

Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic
technology
Associate's Degree preferred

Licenses/Certifications:
CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist either by the TDH or TMB upon hire and ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
• ARRT, TMB(MRT)
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support

Experience:
1 year radiologic technologist experience preferred

Skills:
Good communication, computer, venipuncture skills

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
PATIENT CARE
1. Uses multidisciplinary, team oriented actions to
2. Assesses and recognizes the patient’s emotional, physical, developmental, cognitive and psychosocial conditions
3. Prepares room for examination (i.e. suction, oxygen, supplies)
4. Checks physician orders and exam requisitions
5. Greets and acknowledges patient, using two forms of ID
6. Obtain patient history and ensure female patients ages 12-50 complete pregnancy question form
7. Appropriately handles patients with IVs, oxygen, chest tubes or other devices
8. Demonstrates knowledge of emergency drugs and equipment
9. Uses proper body mechanics when assisting patient
10. Processes patient information, displays proper phone etiquette and transports patients as needed to
11. Safely administers contrast media and other medication in accordance with medication administration guidelines

IMAGING PROCEDURES, QUALITY AND PROCESSING
1. Explains procedures to patient or guardian / family member if applicable prior to exam
2. Position patient to correct anatomical area of interest
3. Performs complex radiographic procedures including age related criteria and developmental considerations
4. Adjusts technique parameters appropriately for age related and body habitus factors
5. Assists radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique
6. Maintain attention to details and quality control t
7. Processes and manipulates images
8. Analyzes image quality and technique adjustments and has the ability to verbalize trouble shooting techniques
9. Performs portable radiographic and c-arm exams in various areas of the hospital
10. Provides after hours call support for radiology .
11. Prints laser images from modality or copies films

EQUIPMENT OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE
1. Adjusts technical factors
2. Operates, cares for and maintains all equipment
3. Applies knowledge of physics and accessories
4. Troubleshoots and properly documents equipment malfunction
5. Maintain equipment and room to sanitary standards
6. Demonstrates the knowledge and understanding of quality control and regulatory standards
