Qualifications/Duties:
Texas Health Ft. Worth, a MAGNET, mother-friendly and baby-friendly facility, has a part-time opportunity for an experienced Maternal/Newborn, couplet care RN.

DEPARTMENT:

- 29-bed Maternal/Newborn unit
- Couplet care model of care
- Responsible for 3 to 4 couplets
- Average 325 to 350 deliveries + per month
- Breastfeeding education
- Skin-to-skin education
- Dedicated Nap time
- Has received "Best Place to have a baby" distinction

Qualified candidates will possess the following:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
RNs hired after January 2017 require completion of BSN within 2 years of start date.
Associates degree in Nursing is minimum

Required minimum experience:

One (1) year experience as a clinical nurse (RN), or completion of an RN residency program.

Required license/certification:

Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire;

Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS/CPR certification upon hire.

Credentials specific to specialty as defined:

- NRP certification within 90 days of hire if not current

Required skills (if applicable):

A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

More than 2 years recent RN experience in an acute care setting - with Mother/baby, couplet care, Postpartum background.
Excellent communication skills,
Proficient in basic computer knowledge - computerized charting - EPIC/Care Connect.
Proficient in customer service skills.

Will partner with both mom and baby - provide breast feeding education
- Baby friendly environment
- RN-C certification in Maternal/Newborn is helpful

HOURS:
Part-time: 6:30PM-7:00AM, 24 hours a week, (2) 12-hour shifts/week including weekends and holidays, self-scheduling
