Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst Euless-Bedford is seeking an RN to join the Oncology Department.
Full time: Days 36 hours per week. (7am-7pm) with alternating weekends, various holidays
OCU is a 19 unit multidisciplinary unit that focused primarily on the care of oncology patients. All 19 beds are dedicated to patients being admitted to the hospital as inpatient status.
All patients are managed by attending physician with consultants available as needed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. OCU has a designated Oncology Nurse Navigator, Chaplain, Oncology Nurse Specialist, Clinical Nurse Leader and Care Transition Nurse.
Inpatient oncology services are provided to those patients who require many aspects of cancer care, including intensive education, various treatment modalities (surgery, chemotherapy, biotherapy, and high dose chemotherapy), pain management, end of life care, blood administration, and supportive care for patients and their families.
The typical nurse to patient ratio is 1:4/5 on the 7a shift and 1:5 on the 7p shift. OCU follows the acuity based staffing guidelines.
Required minimum education: Associates Degree Required. BSN preferred. RNs hired after January, 2014, require completion of BSN within 3 years of start date.
RNs hired within THR after December, 2016, require completion of BSN within 2 years of start date.
Required minimum experience: One year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program, or acceptance into a THR residency program.
Required license/certification: Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire.
Current AHA BLS license upon hire.
CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 60 days after hire.
