Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital has a full time opportunity for a Nurse Auditor Billing RN to be an asset to the Radiology Administration Department (IR).

Days and Hours: M-F, Day Shift (flexible as needed)

-Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing, Associates Degree in Nursing
-Required Licenses/Certification: Registered Nurse in the State of Texas (current) upon hire, BCLS, ACLS within 30 day of hire.  
-Required Skills: Practices within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act.  Serves as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator and coordinator for quality patient care.  Possesses organizational skills to direct and manage care on a nursing unit for an individual shift. Demonstrated competency in modality(s) Management, Microsoft Office, Venipuncture

-Required Experience: 5 years' clinical nursing experience in specified area of audit- IR preferred.

Position Responsibilities:

-Performs audits of patient charge sheet and medical records to ensure accuracy of charges using knowledge of coding regulations for third party payers and assures accuracy of charge sheets. Assures medical record and charge sheet reconciliation and turns reviewed and corrected charge sheets in to charge entry staff.   Reviews edict reports and makes corrections. Monitors monthly revenue report.

-Responsible for staff education on charging, implementing changes, new information needed in documentation and problem trends. Reeducates nurses if inaccuracies occur. Reports uncorrected charging errors and trends to employee’s elevator. Responsible for orienting new staff and RN contract staff on the charging process.

-Completes audit worksheets and prepares necessary forms which reflect any patient charges adjustments.

-Available to assist with request for internal/external auditors to clarify charging methodologies. Works closely with Medical Management; Corporate Compliance; Central Business Office and entity Finance to verify/correct patient charges.  Investigates price book discrepancies and implements price book changes coordinating with Corporate and Finance.
