Qualifications/Duties:
Texas Health Dallas is seeking a Certified Surgical Tech in the Surgery department.

Texas Health Surgery department is at the forefront of some incredible minimally invasive surgeries - procedures that allow physicians to operate with microscopic incisions.

Some of the minimally invasive procedures available are: Bariatric, Cardiovascular,
Gastrointestinal, General, Gynecological, Neuro/Spine, Oncology, and Orthopedics.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Full Time: 40 hours per week
Monday thru Friday 6:45am-3:15pm
Call required, holiday and weekend rotation

Minimum Education Required:
Graduate of an accredited surgery technology program, Vocational Nurse Program or graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology

Minimum Licensure/Certification:
CST - Certified Surgical Technologist graduate of an accredited Surgical tech program Upon Hire
CST - Certified Surgical Technologist graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology within 2 years
LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse Upon Hire
BCLS within 30 days of hire.

Minimum Experience Requirements:
1 year current CST experience within a hospital operating room or surgical center preferred.

Minimum Skill Requirements:
A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment; knowledge of surgical technology.

In collaboration with the RN, assists with the nursing process which includes assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of all patients, including:

-Provides care according to standards of care

-Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to improve care processes that promote continuity of care.

-Performs technical procedures safely, proficiently, and within scope of practice.

-Documents accurately, completely and legibly.

-Takes action to reduce/eliminate patient risks

-Adapts care measures to reflect age specific and developmental considerations.

-Safely administers medications in accordance with medication administration guidelines.

-Serves as a patient advocate.

-Communicates per department expectations.

-Recognizes and communicates ethical and legal concerns through established channels of communication.

-Perform other duties assigned
