A high school diploma or its equivalent as accepted by the Texas Education Agency; or obtain a high school diploma or equivalency program expected to lead to graduation or equivalent within 1 year.

6 months experience in a food service position or applicable customer service experience.

Complete all city and/or state certifications within 30 days of employment.

Reading, basic math, written language in English.
Cooperative, discreet, and courteous in handling customers.
Good communication and organization skills.
Positive customer service attributes.,
Ability to work as a member of a team.
Ability to work in an extremely fast paced environment whiling maintaining focus and quality service.
Ability to learn and apply basic diet therapy.
Ability to make independent decisions with tact, complaint resolution, accuracy in performing responsibilities

Serves and retrieves patient meals in an accurate and timely manner, documenting patient intake or reports for nursing. Promotes patient satisfaction and utilizes service recovery as needed.

Performs office operations via CBORD (Computerized bedside ordering ) technology

Functions in patient service while assisting with selecting correct menu items, using basic diet therapy and CBORD computer entry or telephone selections

Monitors, prepares and delivers floor stock, tube feeding, office supplies and snack cart to designated units. Cleans utility room.

Follows time and temperature standards for food handling, food service tasks and delivery as outlined by department guidelines and patient safety goals. Participates in training of new staff on food and patient safety goals.

Performs other job duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager
