Texas Health Neighborhood Care and Wellness Center Prosper, a facility licensed under Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano, serving the Prosper, Celina, Little Elm, Cross Roads, and surrounding Collin County communities, has an immediate opening for an ED Nurse Manager.

Required minimum education: Bachelors in Nursing

Required minimum experience: 3 years of current hospital experience & management experience. Supervisory experience at minimum.

Required license/certification:
Current Texas RN license; CPR on hire; TNCC; ACLS; PALS within 6 months of hire

Serves as a Role Model and mentor
Demonstrates knowledge/acts as a resource for hospital policies accessing policies as appropriate.
Practices conform to hospital policies and functions in accordance with policies
Reinforces compliance of staff with hospital policies
Provides employees informal/formal feedback regarding performance throughout the year by:
1. Timely completion of evaluations and staff development plans
2. Nomination of staff for awards
3. Advising staff of "job welldone"
and peer praise or concerns

Participates in selection, hiring and coordination of orientation for qualified staff. Takes active role in assimilation of new employees into the department.
Promotes retention initiatives

Inspires growth and development in staff, students and others. Assists in career development of staff by setting clear expectations and goals for staff.

Provides mentoring, coaching and support for staff to achieve goals. Suggests classes or in-services
to assist staff to assume new roles or expand current role. Mentors and trains staff to assume leadership roles.

Facilitates CPM philosophy and employee participation.

Maintains open active communication among all caregivers. Assists staff in developing effective communication skills.

Facilitates awareness of resource people in other departments

Actively promotes satisfaction targets related to:
Monitors survey results, identifies satisfaction issues and develops effective and innovative solutions.

Works with Director to establish process for staff recognition and implements process to provide rewards & recognition for accomplishments of staff.
Publicizes accomplishments of staff for peer/physician recognition.

Encourages communication of patient/family/physician concerns and uses effective interpersonal skills to address and resolve concerns promptly and effectively.

Fosters interdisciplinary environment to promote optimal outcomes

Supports/participates in hospital initiatives in the community and encourages staff involvement as well.

Facilitates the use of Pledge to My Peers
Actively participates in and leads interdisciplinary teams

Helps support and develop Unit Based CPM Council by encouraging staff involvement. Encourages cooperation and teamwork among staff members both intra and interdepartmentally.
Models and mentors in clinical and leadership roles

Assists Director in maintaining departmental budget. Identifies inefficient processes and takes action to improve these processes.

Monitors and maintains productivity measures for departments. Makes adjustments to staffing to correct. Identifies variances and offers suggestions for adjustments.

Helps to identify the need for new programs or services within the department to meet the needs of the patients, staff, physicians and community. Initiates or supports the initiatives to meet those needs.

Facilitates/supports effective scheduling of staff.
Assists the staff in the development of consistent, safe and effective patient care.

Monitors supply utilization and maintains budgeted targets

Facilitates the provision of equipment/supplies to support patient care. Works with staff and physicians to provide equipment/supplies needed to do the job effectively and efficiently. Monitors cost and utilization of supplies. 24/7 responsibility

Actively participates in the PI process and assists with the education and involvement of staff in PI activities.

Identifies opportunities for improvement. Leads and/or participates in PI projects/initiatives. Supports the use of PI tools to appropriately address clinical issue/concerns.

Independently able to problem solve and meet changing needs of staff, physicians and patients
Facilitates the provision of safe, competent patient care. Works with staff/physicians to evaluate and facilitate the placement of patients into the appropriate level of care.

Facilitates compliance with regulatory and accreditation agencies. Exhibits a strong knowledge base for regulatory standards. Surveys department regularly to promote consistent compliance with applicable standards.

Recognizes legal/ethical ramifications of patient care activity. Provides legal/ethical guidance in patient care for assigned units. Encourages staff to consult hospital risk and ethical advocates as necessary to provide optimum outcomes.

Clarifies and supports all policies governing staff such as; Dress Code, Nurse Practice Act, and those addressing ethical, partnership and professional
behaviors. Encourages staff compliance with hospital clinical policies.

Facilitates the use of chain of command for clinical concerns in the department

Reports and appropriately addresses unexpected occurrences in a timely manner
