The Birdsong Women's Center at Texas Health Stephenville, a baby-friendly facility, has a full-time opportunity for an experienced Women's Services RN.
RNs hired within THR after December, 2016, require completion of BSN within 2
years of start date.
Required minimum EXPERIENCE::
One (1) year experience as a clinical nurse (RN)
Current RN licensure - to practice in the state of Texas or compact state upon hire;
American Heart Association BCLS due upon hire, ACLS within 60 days of hire, NRP before completion of orientation, Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring within 18 months of hire unless taken in the past two years.
A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
(Must obtain BSN within 2 years from date of hire)
One (1) year or more in Maternal Newborn Nursing in a Hospital
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to triage, labor, assist with deliver and recover patients.
(will not have to scrub or circulate C-sections)
5 - Postpartum/GYN
1- triage room
around 450 deliveries/year - average between 40-50 deliveries/month
Rooming in for babies
Full-time: (3) 12-hour shifts/week, variable shifts, including some weekends and holidays for coverage; self-scheduling
Assists in the identification of ineffective and costly processes and takes action to improve those processes.
Participates in process improvement activities within the department/hospital.
Uses multidisciplinary, team oriented actions to insure continuity of care.
Initiates action to meet Patient and/or significant others need for information.
Takes action to reduce/eliminate patient risks. Uses CPM philosophy to obtain adequate data to initiate, implement, and revise plan of care to meet patient, physician, and family needs.
Adapts care measures to reflect age-specific and developmental considerations.
Performs/delegates technical procedures safely and proficiently.
Performs as resource/instructor of technical skills proficiently.
Produces documentation that initiates, follows and revises patients plan of care.
Produces documentation that supports, and meets regulatory requirements
Maintains and enhances nursing skills
Serves as patient advocate.
Complies with personnel policies i.e. Attendance Dress Code, Nursing Practice Act, et. al. Communicates per department expectations. Functions as charge nurse (if applicable)
Able to meet changing needs of unit to provide safe patient outcomes & staff/customer satisfaction. Strives to meet Departmental KPI's/System KFA's. Uses CPM philosophy to work in partnership with peers, other disciplines, and unlicensed assistive personnel.
Flexible with scheduling to help meet departmental/patient needs.
Adapts to changes in workload assignment to meet changing needs of the individual patient or the unit.
