Qualifications/Duties:
Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford is seeking a full time Patient Care Tech for the SUB ACUTE ICU TOWER.

SHIFT/SCHEDULE: 7p-7a with rotating days and weekends

Qualifications are as follows:

EDUCATION
***High School Diploma or equivalent is required

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
***CNA-Certified Nurses Aide is required (PCT {THFW or TC4L} or nursing student who has completed fundamentals or military experience with medical equivalent training all may be accepted in lieu of CNA)
***BCLS-Basic Cardiac Life Support is required
***CPI-Crisis Prevention Intervention training within 60 days of hire is required

SKILLS/ABILITIES
*Possesses organizational skills to function in a fast paced work environment.
*Possesses positive interpersonal skills
*Possesses good verbal and written communication skills.

JOB DUTIES
> Provides assistance to patient according to plan of care.
> Collects patient data, identifies and reports significant findings to nurse.
> Assists in admission/transfer/discharge.
> Provides and Revises patient activities of daily living based on patient/family preferences.
> Performs technical procedures safely and proficiently.
> Takes action to reduce or eliminate patient risk.
> Enters orders into computer or manual system if applicable.
> Documents accurately and appropriately.
> In collaboration/consultation with the nurse, adapts care to reflect patient population.
> In collaboration/consultation with nurse, incorporates cultural/religious needs and beliefs into delivery of care.
> Keeps patient environment clean and maintains safe environment.
> Anticipates patient/family and visitor needs and takes action to meet those needs and rounds as appropriate
> Patient care follows plan of care per unit guidelines.
> Communication of information is timely, complete, and accurate and reported to appropriate team member.
> Upon admission, sets up room, obtains vital signs, orients patient to room, checks for armband and applies if absent.
> Patient belongings are ready, transport assistance provided.
> Priorities of activities of daily living revised according to patient/family needs.
> Procedures completed/results reported in a timely manner.
> Uses equipment properly to prevent breakage and excessive wear and tear.
> Safety checklists/quality controls completed as required.
> Documentation is accurate.
> Individualizes care based upon population specific needs
> Effectively manages multiple tasks, orders or directions
