Basic Qualifications / Requirements:
Education:  Graduated from an accredited ARRT program
Experience: 0-6 mos. diagnostic radiology experience
Licenses/Certifications: ARRT, TMB(MRT); TDH
CPR
Skills:  Perform quality exams in all areas of diagnostic radiology to include fluoro, ER, surgery and routine x-rays.  Good customer service, interpersonal and communication skills required.

• Note: This position is heavily involved in OR Imaging. Must also be able to perform quality exams in all areas of diagnostic radiology to include fluoroscopy, ER, surgery and routine x-rays.    Good customer service, interpersonal and communication skills required.

Hours: M-F, 10:30A-7:00P  

Position:
Duties of the position will be as follows, but not limited to:

PATIENT CARE
1. Uses multidisciplinary, team oriented actions
2. Assesses and recognizes the patient’s emotional, physical, developmental, cognitive and psychosocial conditions
3. Prepares room for examination (i.e. suction, oxygen, supplies)
4. Checks physician orders and exam requisitions
5. Greets and acknowledges patient, using two forms of ID
6. Obtain patient history and ensure female patients age 12-50 complete pregnancy question form
7. Appropriately handles patients with IVs, oxygen, chest tubes or other devices
8. Demonstrates knowledge of emergency drugs and equipment
9. Uses proper body mechanics when assisting patient
10. Processes patient information, displays proper phone etiquette and transports patients as needed
11. Safely administers contrast media and other medication in accordance with medication administration guidelines

IMAGING PROCEDURES, QUALITY AND PROCESSING
1. Explains procedures to patient or guardian / family member if applicable prior to exam to
2. Position patient to correct anatomical area of interest
3. Performs complex radiographic procedures including age related criteria and developmental considerations
4. Adjusts technique parameters appropriately for age related and body habitus factors to
5. Assists radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique
6. Maintain attention to details and quality control
7. Processes and manipulates images
8. Analyzes image quality and technique adjustments and has the ability to verbalize trouble shooting techniques
9. Performs portable radiographic and c-arm exams in various areas of the hospital
10. Provides after hours call support for radiology
11. Prints laser images from modality or copies films

EQUIPMENT OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE
1. Adjusts technical factors
2. Operates, cares for and maintains all equipment
3. Applies knowledge of physics and accessories
4. Troubleshoots and properly documents equipment malfunction
5. Maintain equipment and room to sanitary standards
6. Demonstrates the knowledge and understanding of quality control and regulatory standards

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENTS
1. Identify and troubleshoot workflow processes
2. Participates in departmental quality improvement processes
3.  Attends departmental continuing education, meetings, and checks email in a timely manner
