Qualifications/Duties:
The Center for Women at Texas Health Presbyterian Denton has a full-time opportunity for an experienced Labor and Delivery RN.

DEPARTMENT DETAILS:

- This is for an 11-bed LDR
- 2-bed triage/exam rooms.
- 26-beds for Postpartum/Newborn, couplet care and Antepartum.
- a new OB/ED with 4 bays
- OB Hospitalist 24/7
- The Center for Women is averaging between 200 to 225 deliveries per month.
- 10-bed Level III Neonatal ICU
- Texas 10-step program for baby friendly designation

Qualified candidates will possess the following:

HOURS:

Full-time: (3) 12-hour shifts/week, 6:45PM-7:15AM, including some weekends and holidays, rotating schedule, self scheduling

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
RNs hired within THR after December 2016, require completion of BSN within 2 years of start date.

Required minimum experience:

One (1) year experience as a clinical nurse (RN) , or completion of an RN residency program.

Required license/certification:

Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing;
Current AHA BLS/CPR training.

Credentials specific to specialty as defined -

- ACLS and NRP certifications within 6 months of hire.
- Obtain Fetal monitoring (EFM) certification

Required skills (if applicable):

A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

Flexibility with schedule.
Critical thinking skills.

May be required to float to L&D, Antepartum & OB/ED departments.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
(Must obtain BSN within 2 years of hire)
- Prefer 2 or more years recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
- Experience with High Risk OB patients is very helpful
- Charge RN experience is preferred
- Intermediate AWHONN Fetal monitoring (EFM) within 12 months of hire is preferred
* Ability to triage, labor, deliver, circulate and recover patients

Follows guidelines and recommendations defined by regulatory or professional practice agencies . Provides daily care that achieves outcome targets for core measures, NPSG, employee satisfaction, patient satisfaction, NDNQI and other
unit/organizational metrics
Maintains annual competencies
Attends in-services and training useful to area of practice
Shares with peers evidence based practice updates, policy changes, new technology and other pertinent information from conferences or meetings.
