Qualifications/Duties:
Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford is seeking an Endo Tech for the Endoscopic Services Department.

Full Time: 40 hours per week
Rotating shift (variable start times)
Department is open from 5:30 am - 5:30 PM
2 weekend call days in a 6 week period required

Minimum Education Requirements:
High School Graduate or G.E.D.

Minimum Licensure/Certification Requirements:
BCLS

Minimum Experience Requirements:
2 yrs Patient Care Tech/Acute Care experience required.

Minimum Skill Requirements:
Excellent Customer Service skills, strong positive interpersonal skills and ability to function in a fast-paced environment

JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides assistance to RN & other staff to provide care according to the patient's plan of care.

Consistently collects & responds to patient data from admission to discharge, to deliver quality patient care & meet the needs of our customers. Communicates & documents changes & observations immediately to the RN and/or Physician being assisted.


Communication is timely, complete, accurate & reported to the appropriate team member.

Assists with adm/procedure/discharge, sets up cubical/room correctly for ordered procedure. Performs support of all phases of care, taking vital signs, collecting data, collecting specimens, turning rooms, computer order entry, transporting, and discharge.

Consistently uses Universal Protocol on all procedure Patients: Patient ID, Time Out & Hand washing.

Performs technical procedures safely & proficiently w/o significant variance from expected practice. Handles instruments from basic to complex procedures within multiple services. Assists physician/RN procedure with all demonstrated competencies for ET.

Assists team with keeping unit & equipment clean, organized, stocked & removes & reports malfunction or repair needs appropriately.

Assists with assembling, preparing & checking for proper function of supplies & equipment needed, using knowledge of physician preferences to quickly & accurately setup & turn procedure rooms

Demonstrates ability to manage time to assist RN to consistently adhere to schedule.

Displays well developed surgical conscience & aseptic technique with ability to set up sterile procedures & properly monitor/maintain sterile field to minimize transfer of infection/contamination..

Demonstrates ability to respond to variations in procedures & assignments to produce better outcomes.

Takes action to reduce/eliminate patient risk: Understands principals of high level disinfection/operation of automated scope washer & manual wash. Follows guidelines/processes without variance from expected practice.

Perform other duties as assigned.
