Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano is seeking a CST to work Full Time.
Work Hours/ Schedule: 36 hours/week
Minimum Education Required: High school graduate or GED
Minimum Experience Required: Previous surgical scrub technician experience preferred
Minimum Licensure/Certifications Required: Certified Surgical Technologist or Licenses Vocational Nurse in the State of Texas, CPR on hire
Minimum Required Skills: None
*Performs scrub responsibilities in accordance with unit standards on all assigned procedures.
*Demonstrates knowledge of table set-ups, instrumentation, surgeon’s preference cards, etc. for all assigned cases.
*Maintains, corrects and reports breaks in Aseptic technique.
*Safely handles medications and solutions.
*Participates in surgical site verification “Time Out” Follows unit policies related to sharps, sponges and instrumentation.
*Implements a safe environment.
*Practices standard precautions.
*Follows unit policy related to appropriate surgical attire.
*Accepts responsibility to identify and solve patient problems and reports to the circulator, physicians and other OR team members.
*Keeps perioperative environment neat and clean.
*Returns instruments, equipment and supplies correctly to appropriate locations following each procedure.
*Transfers patients safely and promptly.
*Facilitates the provision of safe, competent care for patients of all ages populations served in areas of responsibility.
*Performs other duties as assigned.
