Vice President Accounting has the following duties and responsibilities:

•Lead and direct the timely and accurate completion of the consolidated financial statements and related reports, to include month end, quarter end and year end close and consolidation process.
•Responsible for the system office budget, operating and capital as well as balancing the THR consolidated budget.
•Responsible for Texas Health Partners accounting function
•Provides direction as a Subject Matter Expert on accounting related issues within the new ERP financial system.  Includes general ledger, accounts payable, fixed assets, project costing and non-patient accounts receivable.
•On-going staff development, thru on-site educational activities; encouragement for staff to obtain CPA certification; seek ways to expand knowledge base of staff to become more analytical, less transactional.
•Provide opportunities for staff to develop and assume more responsibility. When opening arise in the department, try and fill with candidates who qualify to sit for the CPA exam.
•Responsible for the System Office accounting function and related staff.
•Responsible for the centralized hospital accounting function, centralized accounts payable and centralized payroll functions.

•Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance from an accredited college or university.
•Minimum ten years of increasingly responsible executive level accounting management experience required.
•7 years’ experience in a large, complex, multi-site and settings integrated health system.
•CPA required.
•Candidate must have working knowledge of accounting systems.
•Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint software.
