Required Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited school of radiology technology with following certification required:  ARRT (R), ARRT (M) , TDH, CPR

Six months experience as a mammographer performing screening and diagnostic exams required.

Ability to perform screening and diagnostic mammography exams, knowledge of
Mammography QA/QC, good customer service, interpersonal and communication skills required.
Biopsy experience preferred

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

5. Greets and acknowledges patient, using two forms of ID to
6. Obtain patient history and ensure female patients ages <-50 complete pregnancy question form to
7. Has patient complete mammography/breast health question form to
8. Demonstrates knowledge of emergency drugs and equipment to
9. Uses proper body mechanics when assisting patient to
10. Processes patient information, displays proper phone etiquette and transports patients as needed to
11. Safely administers contrast media and other medication in accordance with medication administration guidelines to ensure the continuity of care
12. Provide appropriate response to age-specific needs (refer to “Patients Served” on page 1)
13. Ensure patient apparatus is in working order and ready to use to eliminate patient risk
14. Verify accuracy of exam and relevant clinical information
15. Identify correct patient for exam
16. Determine appropriateness of exam in consultation with radiologist
17. Provide the radiologist with accurate clinical history
18. Appropriately respond to patients in distress
19.   Ensure the safety of patient and staff
20. Provide efficient flow throughout the department
21. Provide proper medication dosages; uses appropriate route, and is alert to response to medication that may vary with age of patient

1. Explains procedures to patient or guardian / family member if applicable prior to exam to
2. Position patient to correct anatomical area of interest to
3. Performs complex mammography and sonographic procedures including age related criteria and developmental considerations
4. Adjusts technique parameters appropriately for age related factors and body habitus to
5. Assists radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique to
6. Maintain attention to details and quality control
7. Processes and manipulates images to
8. Analyzes image quality and technique adjustments and has the ability to verbalize trouble shooting techniques to
9.  Makes copies of  films to
10. Performs all quality control and quality assurance testing according to TDH, ACR and MQSA guidelines to
11. Works together with other Mammographers to ensure improve understanding of procedure according to age-specific needs  and according to patient’s learning capacity and language barriers
