Qualifications/Duties:
Basic Qualifications:
ARRT/ASRT or RCIS/RCES accredited school
Cath Lab, 2 yrs preferred
ARRT (R), MRT or RCIS/RCES, CPR

Work Hours/Schedule: Full Time (40 Hrs/Wk), Monday-Friday, 6:30-4:30 (4 days of 10 hours shifts) plus call

Core Duties / Responsibilities:

Patient Care
1. Uses multidisciplinary, team oriented actions
2. Assesses and recognizes the patient’s emotional, physical, developmental, cognitive and psychosocial conditions
3. Prepares room for examination (i.e. suction, oxygen, supplies, medications)
4. Checks physician orders and exam requisitions using time-out procedures
5. Greets and acknowledges patient, using two forms of ID
6. Obtains patient history
7. Handles patients with IVs, oxygen, chest tubes or other devices, and monitor patient during imaging
8. Demonstrates knowledge of Pyxis, emergency drugs and equipment
9. Uses proper body mechanics when assisting patient
10. Administers contrast media and other medications in accordance with medication administration guidelines
11. Processes patient information, displays proper phone etiquette and transports patients as needed
12 Demonstrates proficiency in the scrub, hemodynamic monitor and circulator roles with coronary and peripheral interventional procedures.
13 Facilitates correct billing, charging and procedure documentation

Imaging Procedures, Quality and Processing
1. Explains procedures to patient or guardian / family member if applicable prior to exam
2. Positions patient to correct anatomical area of interest
3. Performs complex procedures including age related criteria and developmental considerations
4. Adjusts technique parameters appropriately for age related factors
5. Assists cardiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique
6. Maintains attention to details
7. Processes and manipulates images, analyzes image quality, troubleshoots, makes technique adjustments or repeat procedures as needed
8. Utilizes proper downtime procedures.
9. Correctly sends and transfers images to Digital Archive System
10. Prints laser images from modality and produces CD copies of the digital record.
11. Coordinates with Centralized Scheduling and other modalities

Equipment Operation and Maintenance
1. Adjusts technical factors
2. Operates, cares for and maintains equipment
3. Applies knowledge of physics and accessories
4. Troubleshoots and properly documents equipment malfunction
5. Maintains equipment and room to sanitary standards
6. Stocks supplies
7. Exchanges and maintenance of film badges within designated time frames
8. Demonstrates the knowledge and understanding of quality control and regulatory standards

Texas Health Heart & Vascular Hospital is a separately licensed hospital located on the campus of Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital.  We are a 48 bed cardiac focused hospital including a 20 bed cardiovascular ICU, a 28 bed cardiac telemetry unit, one Cath Lab, one Cath or EP Lab, one dedicated EP Lab and multiple OR suites.  We are in the process of building another Cath/peripheral lab.
