Texas Health Kaufman is seeking a RAD CT Tech in the Radiology Department

Texas Health Kaufman Imaging Department Employees and Physicians on the medical staff use advanced technology to deliver services for inpatients and those needing emergency care 24/7, 7 days a week. The department is staffed by technologists who are certified by ARRT (American Registry of Radiology Technologists) and the state of Texas. We also have a new CT scanner, optical 660 w/ASIR technology. This new technology reduces radiation exposure in one area. Imaging services include: Diagnostic Imaging (X-ray),Ultrasound, Nuclear SPECT camera, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computed Tomography (CT) , Mammography (Digital), Bone Density, Non-invasive Vascular Testing, Cardiac Stress Testing and Radiography Fluoroscopy.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Full Time 40 hours per week
Monday-Friday 3:00pm-11:00pm

EDUCATION
***High School Diploma required
***ARRT from an accredited school of Radiology with qualified training or certification in CT-Computed Tomography required

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS
***CMRT, ARRT, (CT) or registry eligible required
***current CPR

EXPERIENCE
***One (1) year experience in Diagnostic Radiology with at least 6 months experience specific to Computed Tomography required

Minimum Skill Requirements:
Computer entry skills; must have excellent communication skills; must be self directed, independent and goal oriented; must be able to assume “on call” duties that comply with the “on call” rules stated in the Radiology department’s “call” policy.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Patient Assessment / Performing Diagnostic Tests / Procedures
•Verifies physician orders for diagnostic tests / procedures and validates appropriateness of tests with specified diagnosis.
•Performs exams / procedures following the department manual and / or the Radiologist’s or physician specification(s).

Patient Care and Customer Treatment
Provides comfort and care with a "patient first" attitude.  Anticipates and accommodates needs of patients, families, physicians, and co-workers.  Communicates with respect.  Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, or appropriate literature about exams and after exam care.  Maintains a safe environment be seeking out and correcting safety issues in the Radiology department and the hospital.

Clinical Competency
Demonstrates knowledge of equipment.  Demonstrates knowledge of hospital Codes and Disaster Drills and policies and procedures appropriate to department.  Participates with equipment and product service, maintenance, and evaluations.  Identifies problems with equipment oversees equipment repairs.  Develops self and continued learning through participation in educational programs and hospital training(s).  Performs active departmental rounds and room checks.  Oversees stocking and re-ordering of necessary department supplies.

Cost Effectiveness
Seeks ways to decrease costs.  Utilizes time wisely. Utilizes THR resources effectively.  Constantly looks for ways to improve department productivity without increasing costs.

Modality Specific Technical Skills
Utilizes experience, knowledge and skills when using all equipment to achieve quality while maintaining safety.  Demonstrates knowledge and skill in positioning and technique.  Appropriately and correctly labels images and is able to perform necessary skills to send, store, and troubleshoot PACS system (Synapse) for different modalities.  Appropriately and correctly performs RIS scheduling, data entry, patient tracking, patient report editing and archival, management utility functions, and correctly documents patient history and necessary information for adequate diagnosis.  Communicates and records patient information in logbooks, notes in PACS (when necessary), in the patient chart(s), and on the exam requisition(s).  Demonstrates knowledge of exam preps and is able to communicate preps to other healthcare workers, patients, patient families, and physicians.
