Qualifications/Duties:
Texas Health Dallas is seeking a Police Officer in the Security department.

The Texas Health Dallas Security department provides a variety of security services for the entire system. Security Staff are assigned to the entire THD campus 24 hours a day seven days a week. The campus encompasses 68 acres with 17 buildings, 15 parking lots, an estimated 4, 411 employees, physicians, tenants, and volunteers. Security systems are monitored by the security communications center 24 hours a day. In keeping with our mission statement to provide a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors, the department constantly monitors criminal activity not only on our campus but, in the areas contiguous to it; and incorporate preventative measures to promote a safe and secure environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Part Time: 24 hours per week
Variable shifts and days

Minimum Education Requirements:
Must graduate from an accredited Texas police academy

Minimum Licensure Requirements:
Must maintain a Texas Peace Officer License and remain in good standing with the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officers Standards (TCOLE). Must possess a valid Texas Class C Driver License and be insurable. Must maintain Texas Peace Officer License issued by the State of Texas, and Commission issued by the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas (THD). Must obtain a Mental Health Officer Certification through TCOLE within the first two years of employment.
• Pursuant to Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officers Standards (TCOLE) Declaration of Medical Condition, Commission Rule 215.15 (c), 217.1 (a), 217.7 (e) new license applicants must complete both a physical exam and drug screen. Licensee Officers with more than a 180 day break in service need drug screen only. Must pass a pre-employment polygraph and psychological evaluation. May be subject to further written and/or oral pre-employment testing.

Minimum Skill Requirements:
Must have effective oral and written communication skills

JOB DUTILES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Follow, practice and utilize the Peace Officer Weapons Standard and Qualification General Order to ensure the safety of officers, hospital staff, patients and visitors. .

Must have the ability to deal with THD staff and the public in a tactful and diplomatic manner.

Make sound judgments.

Testify in court to present case facts.

Make independent decisions with tactful, mature and positive attitude;

Demonstrate initiative in assuming responsibilities;

Be cooperative, discreet and courteous in handling visitors and employees within the scope of assigned authority.

Perform other duties as assigned
