Maintenance Specialist to support the System Engineering department at Texas Health HEB
High School Diploma or GED required; specialized training in the mechanic trades or a related field desired.
Three years of experience in a commercial or industrial environment required; experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
HVAC experience strongly preferred
Must have a good driving record and possess or has the ability to posses within 6 months a
valid Texas driver’s license within 6 months of hire.
Proficient in the use of computerized systems for all aspects of job performance;
Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and utility systems;
Mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills;
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams;
Ability to work effectively unsupervised and in teams;
Knowledge of building and electrical codes helpful;
Knowledge of HVAC systems and controls;
Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: (including, but not limited to)
Provide routine and specialized building repair and maintenance support for hospital, hospital equipment, and hospital properties utilizing the computerized maintenance management system
Performs the duties of skill trades such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, general maintenance, mechanical, HVAC, and exterior maintenance as required.
Provide technical support and general guidance to facility staff in the repair and operation of facility equipment, components, utilities, and the like.
Participate in hospital and departmental safety programs, education opportunities, and related training.
